We always recommend something natural at first, you can always add on but hard to reverse. I often recommend hair-strokes or combination brow tattoo as something to begin with.

Please send a clear picture of your existing tattoo without any makeup on for approval first.

The existing tattoo must be over 50% faded in order to work over or have corrected.Working over other artists work is often more work than working on a blank canvas and for that reason we DO NOT touch-up another artist’s work for touch-up pricing. Extra fees will apply if colour correction is needed.

Anywhere between 1-4 years. They are semi-permanent so they will fade as the skin naturally exfoliates. Some brows do fade more than others, depending on the client’s lifestyle.

For example, if the client is skin condition is naturally very oily or sweaty then they will fade quicker. Also, if clients request for more of a “natural look” they will find themselves back in the studio more often.

Microblading & Nano Hairstrokes is creating hair-like patterns into the skin using a nano needle cartridge or microblade that consists of 12-18 needles.

Ombre powder brows is shading that mimics brow make up using a single needle and a rotary machine.

This is one of the most common questions asked. There can be many contributing factors to discoloured eyebrows.

  • Aftercare was not adhered to properly and a scab formed too thick – therefore pulling pigment out of the skin.
  • Discolouration due to cover up of an existing old tattoo that was already discoloured.
  • Darker skin types turned ashy upon healing and hyperpigmentation occurred as a result of the tattooing.
  • The client’s skin was not in the best health.
  • Medication and/or alcohol was injected too soon before or after session (alcohol thins the blood creating more bleeding.)
  • The colour choice was too cool/warm to begin with and a modifier should have been added.
  • Over sun exposure – frequent sun exposure causes ink to fade. This means to protect your investment, you must cover your cosmetic tattoo to prevent colour shifting. Clients who do not cover the area enough will find the UV radiation will cultivate faster colour fade.
  • The area of tattoo has a high movement rate.

Over use of retinol – semi permanent makeup is implanted only at the bottom of the epidermis layer of the skin which is the first layer of the skin. This means daily dosages of products with retinol can cause the ink to fade resulting colour changes.

The first touch up is recommended 4-6 weeks out to lock in colour and fix any patchiness. After the first touch up, it’s recommended you get a yearly refresh to maintain the colour & shape.

However, if at 1 year, your brows still look amazing then we can push out your annual touch up to 1.5 years or 2 years.

This is all depends on your lifestyle, how you take care of your brows and how your skin takes ink.

All pigments fade. There is no such thing as an ink or pigment that does not fade with time and UV radiation (especially living in Australia). Your face is often constantly exposed in comparison to the rest of your body. The eyebrow and lip area for example is unique in its position as it is always exposed. Other tattoo areas such as the eye area are covered with the brow bone and lashes generally fade slower. Body tattoo ink is implanted into the subcutaneous tissue. Also known as, hypodermis which is the fat layer that lies under the skin, therefore making it permanent. Cosmetic tattoo pigment is implanted into the dermis which is only the second layer of the skin, hence it generally doesn’t last more than 5 years.

Body tattoos use different inks with larger molecules that can hold in the skin a bit longer whereas semi-permanent cosmetic tattoo uses pigments which are formulated to be safe for use on the face.

Over time, touch up treatments or colour correction are needed to keep it ‘permanent’. One thing to note for eyebrows is the front part tend to drop pigment and fade faster due to the high level of movement by brow musculature.

The sun can damage our brows overtime. The sun plays a big part on how long the brows last and how the colour fades over time. It is very important to shield your brows as much as possible during the summer or any events that may require long hours in the sun. As the colour will fade faster or dull out to a grayish tint and become patchy.

  1. Wear a hat when possible
  2. Apply quality SPF directly to the brows
  3. Avoid hard chemicals, retinol vitamin C etc. (on the tattooed area)
  4. Schedule an annual touch up to boost or freshen the colour of the brows
